Public Policy Influence
Chunghwa Telecom takes the initiative to participate in public including participation in associations locally and abroad, supports to the government in promoting universal service and infrastructure, and development of forward-looking industries. Chunghwa Telecom allocated approximately NT$650 million in it in 2023.
These investments encompass multiple aspects. Nevertheless, the main purpose is to leverage practical actions and resource allocation, combined with the participation of corporate volunteers, to concretely support issues and public policies of public interest. Chunghwa Telecom aspires to exert the social influence of the enterprise and positively contribute to the sustainable development of society through participation and engagement.
According to Article 8 and Article 9 of the "Procedures for Ethical Management and Guidelines for Conduct for Chunghwa Telecom Co., Ltd.," the company is prohibited from making political donations and from providing or promising any facilitation fees. Therefore, we have not engaged in any lobbying activities related to climate change issues.

In 2023, We have been involved with nearly 100 associations and organizations. Through the exchanges and collaboration among peers in and across the industry, apart from insight and grasp of industry trends and dynamics, Chunghwa Telecom utilize our social and industrial impact to drive the development of the whole telecom industrial chain via active issues participation and engagement. Involvement and Initiatives of Climate-related Associations
Chunghwa Telecom attaches importance to the issue of climate change and keeps tabs on the international trends of net-zero emissions reduction. We ensure that our positions and statements on the climate-related public policies are aligned with the Paris Agreement, aiming to achieve Net Zero Emissions and mobilize partners in the upstream and downstream partners to realize the goal of limiting global warming to within 1.5°C as set out in the Paris Agreement.
