Sustainability Partner Rating System
In 2019, Chunghwa Telecom established the Supplier Sustainability Partner Rating System, the first of its kind in the telecom industry. Based on ISO 20400 Sustainable Procurement Guidance, suppliers are rated on their sustainability performance in four levels: Gold, Silver, Bronze, and Participatory. Through procurement terms and conditions, suppliers are required to enhance their sustainability/ESG practices and actions, thereby improving their sustainability capabilities.
Under the Supplier Sustainability Partner Rating System, Chunghwa Telecom commissions a third-party verification body to conduct on-site audits and quantitatively assess suppliers’ sustainability performance in an objective and impartial manner. A report is issued to explain the rating results of audited suppliers. Chunghwa Telecom awards suppliers Gold, Silver, or Bronze certificates and gradually builds a list of qualified sustainable suppliers, leading supply chain partners to improve their sustainability capabilities and enabling more Chunghwa Telecom consumers to learn about and support sustainable suppliers.
In 2025, a total of 30 companies received the Gold-tier Certificate under Chunghwa Telecom’s Supplier Sustainability Partner Rating System. Through its sustainable “Extensive Alliance” strategy, Chunghwa Telecom guides supplier partners to seize low- and zero-carbon business opportunities and contribute to global climate change response and the sustainable transformation of the ICT industry.
