Sustainability Partner Rating System
CHT established the “Supplier Sustainability Rating” system, first in the telecom industry, in 2019. Based on the ISO 20400 Sustainable Procurement-Guidance, suppliers are rated in terms of their sustainability in 4 levels, i.e. Gold, Silver, Bronze, and Participatory. Through procurement terms, suppliers are required to enhance their sustainability and ESG practices and actions, thereby improving their sustainability capabilities.
The “Supplier Sustainability Partner Rating” is a rating of the sustainability performance of suppliers by Third-party verification units under commission through on-site audit in an objective and impartial manner with a report presented to explain the rating results of the suppliers audited. Chunghwa Telecom awards the suppliers with certificates of Gold, Silver, Bronze, and Participatory to build up a list of qualified “sustainable suppliers” step by step. As such, it leads the partners on the supply chain to improve their sustainability competencies and allows more consumers of Chunghwa Telecom to appreciate and support the sustainable suppliers.
For the sustainability partner rating of Chunghwa Telecom in 2024, a total of 34 companies was awarded with the “Gold-tier Certificates.” Through the strategy of sustainable extensive alliance, we guide supplier partners to seize the low-carbon and zero-carbon business opportunities and contribute to global climate change and the sustainable transformation of the ICT industry.

Upholding the brand spirit “Always Ahead,” Chunghwa Telecom took the lead to carry out “supply chain sustainability management action” starting from 2008 as the first telecom operator in Taiwan that implements sustainable supply chain management. We are committed to becoming a leader in the digital economy and innovation industry, guiding our suppliers towards a sustainable future.
