ESG Trainings & Sustainable Environmental Education
ESG Trainings
Starting in 2020, Chunghwa Telecom has been actively promoting ESG education and training for suppliers, inviting numerous ESG experts and industry representatives to provide in-depth analysis of sustainable development concepts and enhance suppliers’ sustainability capabilities.
In 2025, we held the 2025 Chunghwa Telecom Supplier Sustainability Capability Second-party Audit Launch and Sustainability Partner Certification education and training, with 100 representatives from significant suppliers participating. The event invited internal and external experts to deliver a four-hour ESG course. Participants not only learned about the latest international sustainability trends and industry dynamics, but also gained practical ESG action support through interaction and exchange, thereby promoting sustainable development of the supply chain and providing concrete support for suppliers in their ESG actions.
Sustainable Environmental Education
In 2016, Chunghwa Telecom launched the first Sustainable Environmental Education initiative for suppliers. Each year, supplier partners are brought to environmental education sites. This initiative not only consolidates environmental consensus throughout the supply chain, but also strengthens the momentum of overall sustainable development. The annual Supplier Partner ESG Education and Training further deepens suppliers’ understanding and concrete practice of sustainability/ESG.
In 2025, Vice President Di-Yao Jhan of the Supply Department, Chunghwa Telecom, led supplier partners to the Dongyanshan Nature Education Center and the Sixth Forest Compartment in Taoyuan for the 2025 Chunghwa Telecom Supplier Environmental Education Visit. Under the theme “Building a Bamboo Future Together and Moving Toward Net Zero,” the activity was combined with Chunghwa Telecom’s ESG project “Replacing Old with New, Building the Future with Bamboo,” promoted by the Forestry and Nature Conservation Agency under the Ministry of Agriculture. More than 40 suppliers and 61 supplier representatives participated. Through guided mountain forest tours, education on domestic timber, and field visits on bamboo forest conservation, the activity deepened suppliers’ understanding of key issues such as biodiversity, sustainable forestry, and local revitalization, demonstrating Chunghwa Telecom’s determination and actions to build a sustainable supply chain.

Supplier Empowerment - Decarbonization Pathway Workshop
To strengthen supply chain climate resilience and decarbonization capabilities, we organized the Key Supplier Decarbonization Pathway Workshop. Environmental sustainability experts with hands-on experience in SBTi decarbonization targets were invited to share decarbonization strategies, carbon inventory practices, and RE100 target setting and implementation processes. In addition to the methodology for science-based reduction pathway planning, the course content also covered analysis of corporate case studies and hands-on exercises, helping supplier partners identify emissions hotspots, carry out voluntary inventories and pathway planning, and enhance their climate risk identification and action capabilities to drive the supply chain’s transition to net-zero emissions.
