Chunghwa Telecom is the only Taiwanese Carrier Awarded the “Brand of the Year” by the World Branding

The World Branding Forum (“WBF”) awarded 118 well-known national and global brands from 38 countries as the winners of the 2015-2016 World Branding Awards (“WBA”) on September 24 in London. Chunghwa Telecom was the only Taiwanese telecom operator to win the national “Brand of the Year” of Taiwan, demonstrating its outstanding brand value and customer loyalty. Vice President Ho Hsu-Hui, Head of Public Affairs of Chunghwa Telecom, stated at the ceremony in Kensington Palace, “The success of our business is powered by our user loyalty and leading market share. Our premium brand also carries great value with current and potential customers. This award shows once again that for customers in Taiwan, Chunghwa Telecom is the only long-lived leading brand choice in any market condition.” 

According to Peter Pek, Chief Executive of the WBF, the organization’s brand valuation process evaluates and ranks companies based on financial performance, as well as advertising, public relations, marketing and social media engagement activities.

Richard Rowles, Chairman of World Branding Forum stated, “As half of the voting is done by consumers, the winners of the awards clearly demonstrate that they have built strong brand loyalty among their customers and fans.”
