Chunghwa Telecom and Ericsson Sign MOU to Jointly Push Beyond 5G Evolution in Taiwan. Building a green network, driving innovation and accelerating growth by introducing advanced mobile communication technologies

TAIPEI, Taiwan, R.O.C. March 1, 2023 - Chunghwa Telecom Co., Ltd. (TAIEX: 2412, NYSE: CHT) signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Ericsson on 5G Advanced/6G collaboration at the 2023 Mobile World Congress (MWC23) in Barcelona, Spain, to deepen their 5G strategic collaboration and join hands to lead Taiwan's 5G network to the next Beyond 5G stage.

Chunghwa Telecom and Ericsson will combine their abundant technology and R&D resources to deepen their collaboration on "5G-Advanced" evolution technologies, and jointly explore new applications and business opportunities for "5G Enterprise Private Network", including 5G network slicing, standalone (SA) architecture, and ultra-reliable low-latency communication (URLLC), and accelerating the proliferation of 5G private network applications. Through promoting network evolution, the two parties will use Ericsson's cutting-edge energy-efficient equipment and advanced AI technology to construct a highly automated smart energy-saving network and further practice "energy conservation and sustainability".
