SBTi Net-Zero Commitment and Targets

Chunghwa Telecom is committed to advancing climate action to mitigate the impact of climate change. By signing on to support the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosure (TCFD), regularly responding to the CDP questionnaire, joining the RE100 initiative and the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), and establishing short-, medium-, and long-term carbon management targets, the Company remains committed to achieving the 2045 net zero emissions target. In order to comply with SBTi's carbon reduction requirements for the ICT industry, the Company has implemented carbon reduction plans for data centers, mobile networks and fixed networks, and office buildings. We make reference to carbon reduction methods recommended by various international organizations and the government, and develop future carbon reduction plans based on the current situation.

This purchase of 3,000 metric tons of carbon credits for foreign solar energy projects certified by Gold Standard has been used to offset residual emissions in Chunghwa Telecom Institute’s introduction of ISO 14068-1 carbon neutrality.https://www.cht.com.tw/zh-tw/home/cht/messages/2026/0119-1400
