Chunghwa Telecom Marks Ninth Consecutive Year of Frost & Sullivan Recognition, Recognized for Leadership in Telecommunications Services and 5G Innovation

Chunghwa Telecom has once again been recognized with two prestigious honors in the Frost & Sullivan Best Practices Awards 2026, receiving both the 2026 Taiwanese Telecoms Company of the Year Award and the 2026 Taiwanese 5G Technology Innovation Leadership Award. The achievement marks an industry-leading milestone, making Chunghwa Telecom the only telecommunications operator in Taiwan to receive Frost & Sullivan’s Best Practices Awards for nine consecutive years.

Mr. Chih-Cheng Chien, Chairman and CEO of Chunghwa Telecom, expressed that he was honored to receive the recognition once again. As Taiwan’s leading telecommunications provider, Chunghwa Telecom continues to invest in cutting-edge communications technologies while integrating AI-driven innovation across its products and services to deliver smarter and more convenient digital experiences for customers. The company also continues to expand its 5G private network capabilities and accelerate the adoption of innovative 5G applications, helping enterprises and governments advance digital transformation while reinforcing its leadership in both 5G innovation and commercialization.

AI-Powered Innovation Strengthens Enterprise and Public-Sector Digital Transformation

According to Frost & Sullivan’s analysis, Chunghwa Telecom continues to enhance its service portfolio by placing AI and digital resilience at the core of its innovation strategy. The company has upgraded its existing data center infrastructure with high-density computing, GPU resources, and liquid-cooling technologies to build AI Data Centers (AIDCs) that support growing enterprise demand for AI computing. To further accelerate AI adoption, the company has developed its CHT AI Factory platform, integrating the hicloud AI computing cloud, model training and inference tools, and a wide range of AI models into a unified ecosystem. The platform helps organizations lower the barriers to AI implementation, shorten development cycles, and improve operational productivity through practical AI applications.

The company has also leveraged AI to improve service reliability through its self-developed Danova AgenticOps Platform. By consolidating monitoring data from servers, network equipment, firewalls, and software services into a centralized management framework, the platform provides enterprises with a real-time view of system performance and operating status. When equipment failures, network disruptions, or performance degradation occur, Danova proactively generates alerts, analyzes root causes, and recommends corrective actions. This enables organizations to move from reactive maintenance to proactive operations, ensuring the stability of critical business operations. Beyond enterprise applications, Chunghwa Telecom is also applying AI technologies to environmental sustainability. Its AIoT biodiversity seagrass restoration monitoring system combines high-definition imaging with water quality and temperature sensors to collect environmental data around the clock. By providing researchers with real-time insights into seagrass growth and ecosystem conditions, the system transforms labor-intensive field inspections into a data-driven management approach, helping conservation organizations enhance environmental monitoring efficiency and decision-making.

Accelerating Real-World 5G Innovation, Chunghwa Telecom Again Earns Taiwan's 5G Technology Innovation Leadership Award

Chunghwa Telecom has excelled in both 5G innovation and commercial deployment. Built on advanced 5G Standalone (5G SA) and Multi-access Edge Computing (MEC) architectures, the company has successfully applied innovative 5G technologies across smart logistics and smart city initiatives. In smart logistics, the company has partnered with industry collaborators to advance drone delivery services in Chiayi County. Leveraging 5G aerial corridors, a logistics management platform, and AI-powered dispatch technologies, the solution enables automated delivery operations. Through nearly 1,200 successful delivery missions, the project has validated the operational viability and commercial potential of drone-based logistics services. In smart city development, the company worked with the Changhua County Government to establish the county's first intelligent traffic control center. By integrating AI-powered traffic recognition, CVP telecom big-data analytics, and an intelligent traffic management platform, the solution provides real-time visibility into traffic conditions and intersection performance, enhancing traffic management efficiency through adaptive signal optimization.

Looking ahead, Chunghwa Telecom will continue to advance emerging technologies including 5G-Advanced, AI, edge computing, and autonomous networking. The company plans to further expand applications across 5G private networks, smart cities, smart logistics, and enterprise digital transformation initiatives while working closely with ecosystem partners to accelerate innovation and deployment. By continuously enhancing network performance, digital infrastructure, and service quality, the company remains committed to creating greater value for governments, enterprises, and consumers, while showcasing Taiwan’s digital innovation capabilities on the global stage and delivering more intelligent, reliable, and sustainable digital experiences for all.
