Chunghwa Telecom Again Named One of Newsweek’s “World’s Most Trustworthy Companies,” Building Sustainable Resilience with Stakeholders Through Trust

Newsweek, the internationally renowned media outlet, recently announced the results of its “World’s Most Trustworthy Companies 2025” rankings. Chunghwa Telecom once again distinguished itself among the thousands of evaluated companies worldwide, successfully earning a place on this global benchmark of corporate trust. As the only Taiwanese telecom operator on the list and ranking an impressive 4th among global telecommunications carriers, Chunghwa Telecom demonstrated outstanding overall performance. Chairman and CEO Chien Chih-Cheng noted that it is a great honor to receive such international recognition once again, which carries significant meaning for the company. He emphasized that Chunghwa Telecom has always valued and cherished the trust placed in it by stakeholders, and continues to uphold its core values of integrity, trust, innovation, and accountability as it advances sustainability together with all stakeholders.

This year’s evaluation covered 20 countries and 23 industries worldwide, surveying 65,000 respondents and assessing companies across three key dimensions: customer trust, investor trust, and employee trust, supplemented by the analysis of approximately 500,000 online sentiment data points. Chunghwa Telecom has been named to the “World’s Most Trustworthy Companies” list for the second consecutive year, demonstrating the company’s deeply rooted brand trust and once again showcasing the outstanding performance of Taiwanese enterprises on the global stage.

Customer Trust: A Comprehensive “Sea, Land, Satellite and Sky” Network Safeguarding Taiwan’s Communication Resilience

As Taiwan’s leading telecommunications provider, Chunghwa Telecom has long been committed to delivering secure, stable, and high-quality network and digital services to its customers. In response to geopolitical risks and increasingly severe climate events, the Company has advanced its “Sea, Land, Satellite and Sky” resilient network strategy, strengthening infrastructure across submarine cables, broadband networks, mobile networks, microwave links, and satellite communications. In addition to deploying a dense network infrastructure, Chunghwa Telecom has partnered with global satellite operators to establish a multi-orbit satellite network covering high-, medium-, and low-Earth orbits. This comprehensive architecture provides Taiwan with a robust, sovereign, and internationally aligned backup communication system that ensures stable connectivity during earthquakes, typhoons, or unforeseen emergencies. At the same time, the Company continues to expand mobile and broadband coverage in rural and remote areas, promoting digital inclusion and ensuring that people across Taiwan—regardless of location—can stay connected with confidence and enjoy reliable, high-quality communication services. This unwavering commitment to service excellence is a key reason why Chunghwa Telecom continues to earn the long-term trust of its customers.

Investor Trust: Strong Governance and Long-Term Value

Chunghwa Telecom is the only Taiwanese telecommunications company listed on both the Taiwan Stock Exchange (TWSE) and the New York Stock Exchange. The Company has long been recognized by global investors for its high level of transparency and rigorous corporate governance. Chunghwa Telecom has been ranked in the Top 5% of the TWSE Corporate Governance Evaluation for ten consecutive years and has earned the MSCI ESG AAA rating—one of only four telecom companies in Asia to receive this distinction. These achievements underscore the Company’s exceptional performance in corporate governance and sustainable management. With a solid financial foundation and a long-standing stable dividend policy, Chunghwa Telecom demonstrates strong operational resilience. The Company values transparent communication with investors, building long-term trust through regular investor conferences and diverse disclosure mechanisms. At the same time, Chunghwa Telecom adheres to international compliance standards and continues to strengthen internal controls and risk management to ensure transparent decision-making and effective governance. These efforts create long-term and sustainable value for investors, reinforcing Chunghwa Telecom’s standing as a trusted investment partner.

Employee Trust: Putting People First to Build a Diverse and Inclusive Workplace

Chunghwa Telecom believes that employees are the company’s most valuable asset and is committed to fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace. Through its AAA talent sustainability strategy—Advance, Activate, and Amplify—the Company actively nurtures next-generation technology talent and strengthens digital transformation capabilities through industry–academia collaboration. These efforts aim to cultivate a workforce equipped with continuous learning and innovation capabilities for both the company and society. At the same time, Chunghwa Telecom promotes its family-friendly workplace blueprint, “Supporting Parenthood, Sustaining Well-Being — A Workplace Where Happiness Never Closes,” emphasizing work–life balance across employees’ career and caregiving needs. From parental leave, childcare allowances, on-site childcare centers, and education subsidies to retirement support, the Company provides comprehensive, lifecycle-based assistance that reflects the philosophy of “nurturing the young, empowering the capable, and caring for the elderly”. This year, Chunghwa Telecom received multiple recognitions, including the Gold Award in the Commercial Times Taiwan Happiness Enterprise Evaluation, the Parenting Family-Friendly Workplace Award, and the CommonWealth Talent Sustainability Award—first place in the large enterprise service sector. These honors underscore the company’s long-standing commitment to people-centric values and its dedication to creating a workplace where employees can grow, contribute, and succeed together.

Looking ahead, Mr. Chien emphasized that Chunghwa Telecom will continue to uphold its four core values and create lasting value for customers, investors, employees, and all stakeholders.
