For instance, in the manufacturing sector, Chunghwa Telecom integrates its 5G enterprise private networks with AI image recognition and automated optical inspection (AOI) technology to transmit high-resolution images to an AI platform in real time for defect detection. By integrating robotic arms for automated classification, the end-to-end solution effectively reduces labor costs and error rates while enhancing production efficiency and quality control. In smart cities development, Chunghwa Telecom has partnered with the Tainan City Government to advance 5G smart pole applications, integrating smart street lights, weather stations, surveillance cameras, 5G small cells and digital signage. Supported by the company’s self-developed smart city management platform, CHTCityOS, the system enables real-time analysis of pedestrian and vehicle flows, air quality monitoring, and intelligent law enforcement functions - creating a safer, more efficient, and more connected urban environment.
