To advocate for startup Sector, Chunghwa Telecom builds proof-of-concept areas at Taiwan Startup Terrace in Linkou and Shalun, as well as Asia New Bay Area in Kaohsiung. Along with 5G Accelerator and 5G Industry Alliance, it creates venues for 5G experiments, supports startups to respond to market needs, and expands 5G and AIoT commercial applications.

  

In the future, more resources will be invested to develop 5G and AIoT application services to propel 5G industry development in Taiwan with international connections.

Taiwan Startup Terrace in Linkou

As part of efforts to transform Taiwan into a leading innovation service provider in the Asia-Pacific region, the SMEA, MOEA has established a major international startup hub, namely Startup Terrace, at the site of the former Universiade athlete’s village in Linkou, New Taipei City. Startup Terrace provides offices, housing, co-working space, an exhibition center, and other state-of-the-art facilities that make it the ideal place for startups to grow and develop.

Taiwan Startup Terrace in Shalun

It is designed to increase innovation capabilities in southern Taiwan, bring back workforce, balance regional development, and facilitate startup clusters. These startups and entrepreneurs are expected to develop industries, attract investments, enhance regional balance, and form international startup ecosystems in Linkou and Shalun.

Asia New Bay Area in Kaohsiung

Chunghwa Telecom and 13 vendors have officially stationed in Asia New Bay Area in Kaohsiung to connect 5G industries in Taiwan to the world. Initial resources include fiber and wireless networks, cloud computing rooms, edge cloud computing platforms, and 5G enterprise networks. This region will be proof-of-concept area for 5G vertical applications, including smart manufacturing, AR/VR application, drone inspection and logistics, smart streetlights, and environmental detection. It can work with local and international companies and startups to verify feasibility, and expand to commercial scale for industrial use. Top-tier teams in Taiwan will also export 5G AIoT solutions to the world, and supply global demands.
