bills might be delayed for 2 or 3 months due to the schedule of billing records transferred by the
operators you visited.
2. Due to the limited functions of international carrier equipments, many caller ID could not be identified
on your handset if you receive a call while roaming, thus the caller's phone number will not be shown
on your phone bill accordingly in most cases. For the same reason, your family and friends might not
be able to identify your mobile number when you call them while roaming.
3. Please be noticed that, according to the individual operator's charging principle, you might be charged
for incomplete calls (such as no reply while ringing, receiving an announcement or busy tone etc.) while
making calls overseas. Base on the concept of user payment, you will be charges for call attempts, no
matter the calls are successfully established or not, by some operators in USA, Canada, Argentina,
Uruguay, Guatemala and Denmark
etc.
4. When dialing the international toll free service number provided by credit card company, telephone
company or any kind of toll free number via mobile phone, you will still be charged pursuant to the
individual operator's charging principle for the usage of radio resource.
5. The charges for data usage are calculated based on the volume, both uplink and downlink, rather than
the connection time interval. For details, please refer to the relevant information in our website before
going abroad. To avoid the unexpected high roaming charges, please make sure that the connection is
terminated after your browsing. Meanwhile, please be noted that the domestic data tariff plan you select
excludes the charges for data roaming usage.
6. To avoid the unexpected high roaming charges, it is recommended to switch off the call-forwarding
feature, including voice mail service, through your handset while roaming abroad.
7. To avoid being charged for international calls by activating voice mail while roaming, Chunghwa Telecom
blocks part of the features for voice mail under the conditions that your mobile phone is busy, no reply
or not reachable. If you would still like to use this service, please ask those who want to leave massages
to you to dial the voice mail system number "0937 000 777". Likewise, please dial "+886 937 000 777"
to check your voice mail.
8. Upon receiving welcome short messages from the networks you visit, it is suggested not to dial any
numbers indicated in the message to avoid unnecessary roaming charges incurred. Such messages are
for your reference only.
9. Please dial 112, the standard emergency number used by GSM system, for emergency cases while roaming.
The short code services offered by Chunghwa Telecom, such as 333, 666, 777, 888 etc. is used in Taiwan
only. To avoid unnecessary roaming charges caused by being wrongly connected, do not dial those short
codes while roaming abroad.
10. When creating a phone book on your mobile phone, it is suggested to include the international prefix
sign "+" as well as the country code. For example, enter "+886 932 123 456" instead "0932 123 456".
Thus the phone book will be available for making calls no matter where you are.
11. Since a majority of countries in the Americas use 1900 frequency while the frequency of 850 is opted
by the minority, please make sure that your mobile phone supports the frequency used by the visited
operators before roaming to the countries in the Americas.
12. To prevent fraudulent use, please contact Chunghwa Telecom's international roaming hotline (non toll free
+886 928 000 086) immediately if your mobile phone is lost.
13. For electric power charging purpose, please confirm the voltage adopted by the visited countries/areas
before traveling overseas.
14. When sending short messages while being in overseas, please make sure to key in the correct terminated
number so that you do not have to pay unnecessary roaming charges.
