Chunghwa Telecom provides equal employment opportunities to each and every job seeker and current employee.  Besides safeguarding of basic human rights, according to Universal Declarations of Human Rights, CHT has stepped further by promising a sound work environment enabling every employee in fully exerting his/her talents. 

CHT facilitates open communications with all employees, while offers them a safe and healthy work environment, as well as emphasizes the rights and concerns of the employee union in order to gain and to maintain the ultimate trust of all of CHT’s employees.  CHT chose to continue its genuine promise to its employees by offering 'Employee Assurance" in order to enable employees to concentrate on their work performance.  CHT facilitates open communications with all employees, while offers them a safe and healthy work environment, as well as emphasizes the rights and concerns of the employee union in order to gain and to maintain the ultimate trust of all of CHT’s employees.

To ensure employees’ freedom of association, 99.86% of employees are covered by an independent union. Chunghwa Telecom is the only telecommunications carrier in Taiwan to have established, and signed a collective bargaining agreement, with a union. This initiative not only complies with local laws and international human rights conventions, but also demonstrates our commitment to the protection of employee rights and interests. 

Starting from 2011, we conducted The “Chunghwa Telecom Happiness at Work Survey” through anonymous online questionnaire every year, to listen to employees’ voice in terms of workplace environment, welfare and remuneration, and understand employees’ expectations for a better labor-employee communication. 

In 2016, we designated an external third party to conduct the investigation and the overall satisfaction was up to 80. We respond to issues raised by employees through actual response, communication and introduction of educational training to enhance employees’ happiness. Since the surveys began, the Company has received increasing level of satisfaction and response year after year.

In the future, we will continue to respond and communicate on employees’ opinions, and provide suitable training to further enhance employees’ satisfaction and happiness.
